Dear Blast to the Past Families,
We are getting very close and things are looking great. Just a few reminders as we approach opening night. We have 3 rehearsals left, Friday, Monday & Tuesday. Rehearsals will end when we are done running the show. I would like to thank you for your understanding. Please note that your student must stay until the end so we can get the flow of the show going without any missing students. Unless your student is sick, please make sure that rehearsal is the first priority for the next week. I do not want anyone losing their solos due to leaving early. If they are not physically on stage when their part comes, someone must step in for them. A big thank you to those performers who have been jumping in here and there and understudying many roles. Very IMPRESSIVE!!! Up to this past week, our staff has been very flexible with students leaving early due, to soccer, baseball, softball, dance class etc....
Please make this the priority for one more week. Our schedule is as follows:
Friday, Monday, Tuesday is until we finish which is usually around 5:00.
Wednesday the final dress rehearsal begins at 2:00 sharp and with a full audience, we will not stop for problems, so if all goes well, we should be done by 4:15.
Thursday morning is our school assembly so students should report to the MPR by 10:00 am to prepare for a 10:30 show. Thursday evening, please have your student to the MPR by
5:30. Curtain is at 6:30. Friday evening please have your student to the MPR by 6:00.
Curtain is at 7:00. (no rehearsal Thursday or Friday day)
With all that said, I think you will all be amazed by the end result. Your children are working so hard and you will not believe the level of talent that Woodbury has. No other elementary school that I know is doing what your kids are doing and I am so very proud of them.
Thank you to all of you for getting your kids to and from rehearsals and for your dedication to this program. I can't wait for opening night!!! We are one week away. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Bonnie Barlow

We're getting close!
Here are some pictures of rehersal last week. Thank you to Katelyn's dad for taking them! The show is really coming together! You guys rock!
This week we run the show everyday. Today was Grease, tomorrow will be Bye Bye Birdie and Wednesday will be Hairspray. On Thursday and Friday we will run the whole entire show so rehersals will probably end closer to 5 than 4:30. The early we start the better so please arrive on time ready to go. Remember to bring your box with your props and costume changes in it so everything is there when you need it.
I'll post the pictures Ms. Bonnie's dad took tomorrow so keep checking back.
You guys are doing great!!!!
Love,
Mrs. Lyons

Reminders
There will be no rehersal for lower graders tomorrow (Wed). Please don't forget about our Ruby's fundraiser dinner though. We hope to see everyone there!
A note from Bonnie-
Hi Musical Families,
Thank you to those of you who were prepared for today's photo shoot. Please note that next Monday at 3:00pm we will be taking a full cast photo again with EVERYONE in costume. Please bring to school what you will need to make that happen. If you have any questions or concerns about what you are supposed to bring, please speak with Victoria Loera. Also, if you e-mail me your questions, I will forward them to Victoria for you.
I leave all that stuff up to her along with her wardrobe team, Claudia Darley and Nhina Smith.
They are doing such a fabulous job. You have NO idea how many hours they are all putting into making all the costumes and creating a look (sometimes 3 and 4 looks) for each student. Please take a minute, if you see them, and thank them for all they do. I am soooo lucky to work with such an amazing staff. ALL of them!!!!
One more thing.....please make sure if your student has a solo or featured spot that it is memorized and ready for performance. If the memorization is not yet there, it makes it so hard to "perform" the piece . Once the memorization is there then the student gains the confidence to "perform" and grow in that role. We are down to about 2 weeks till opening night and knowing the words to the songs is highly important.
Thank you to all of you for working so hard and being so dedicated. I hope I see everyone at Ruby's on Wednesday night. If you are there, I will give you a treat on Thursday.
I'll be there too!!!!
Love,

this week
This week we will not have rehersal on Thursday. Both upper and lower graders will have the day off to celebrate Valentine's Day!
Lower graders will not have rehersal on Wed either. Upper graders will work on finishing up Bye Bye Birdie. Next week we will start Hairspray. If possible we'd like to have upper graders stay until 4:30 on both Tuesday and Wednesday. If you need to leave at 3:30 we understand but we'd appreciate if you could stay. Showtime is coming soon!

Soloists
Updated Rehersal Schedule
One musical down, two to go! Grease is really looking great so we are moving on to Bye!Bye! Birdie this week. Please practice all the music. Listen at home, in the car.... The better you know the words to the music the easier the choreography will be to learn.
This week lower graders will leave earlier and not come on Wednesday while Bonnie works with upper graders on choreography.
Tuesday – lower graders-3 or 3:15 upper graders until 4:30
Wednesday- no lower graders, upper until 4:30
Thursday- lower graders 3 or 3:30, upper 4:30.
PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR A TIME FOR LOWER GRADER DISMISSAL ON THURSDAY. THE TIME WILL DEPEND ON WHAT IS LEARNED ON TUESDAY.
The show is looking great and really shaping up. We have a lot of talent at Woodbury!
We need lots of help getting ready for the big day so if you are a parent of a 1st or 2nd grader who has to stay please see Stacey, Susan, Mitzi, Victoria, Michelle and we'll put you to work :)
